About Allseasons
Allseasons at the meadows is the name of an ecologically centred tourism development in the West of Scotland. The vision of Andrew and Jennifer Malcolm. The couple previously operated a successful landscaping and floral design business and felt they wanted to create a development that was a lasting legacy for generations to come which showcased nature and gave it equal billing with tourism and regeneration which demonstrates that conservation and commercialism can work hand in hand.
Visit Scotland recognises this project as a first for Scotland and acknowledges its potential contribution to tourism from the national and international markets.
The development will create a gateway for the Irvine Valley and will raise the profile and standing of the area. Upon arrival at the development visitors will be greeted by a series of stunning specially commissioned gateway sculptures and landscaping which will reflect the regions history and industrial heritage of the valley together with a symbol of the future through wildlife and tourism. We are currently in discussion with local engineering companies and artists to commision these sculptures. New waterways, a loch on southside of the A71 and a linked water feature will lead to a central sculpture on a roundabout representing a tree of life and a flock of geese rising . The central sculpture could be seen as being interpretative of the winds of change that have blown through the Valley over the years from, as far back, as the Covenanters, through the busy industrial period and looking forward for future generations with the sculptured geese seen as hope rising.
Currently we are active on completing the phased
development approach of the loch dig. The next stage will include
commencement of the infrastructure for the main build and that of the
garden centre, which is planned for a Summer 2012 opening
Future phased building will include a luxury hotel with gym, spa, conference and wedding facilities. A marina with tourist outlets promoting local produce, restaurant and contemporary waterfront holiday homes along the loch shoreline. There are also plans for a Salmon and Sea Trout Hatchery and Visitor Centre, planned for Summer 2013. Further details of the development which will include plans for a next generation homes for the over 55's.
Having a long standing passion for the natural environment and continuous links with the local community, Allseasons eco-tourism and wildlife site is available for use to residents, schools and community groups in their local environs.
The development is located only 9 miles from the bustling town of Kilmarnock and 30 minutes from Glasgow City Centre. Nearby visitor attractions include Loudoun Hill (which is linked with William Wallace and is the site of Richard Price's art sculpture 'Spirit of Scotland'), Burns Cottage, numerous first rate golf courses and Ayr Race Course.
Total spend on the development to November 2010 is in excess of £6 million.
