About Allseasons
Visit Scotland recognises this project as a first for Scotland and acknowledges its potential contribution to tourism from the national and international markets.
Total spend to July 2009 on the development has totalled £6 million
The development is to be built over phases and a large 25 acre man-made loch was the first feature to be created. As it establishes it's becoming home to many different types of birdlife and fish.
The development will create a gateway for the Irvine Valley and will raise the profile and standing of the area. Upon arrival at the development visitors will be greeted by a series of stunning specially commissioned gateway sculptures and landscaping which will reflect the regions history and industrial heritage of the valley together with a symbol of the future through wildlife and tourism. Striking new waterways, mirrored loch and water features will also be added which will culminate in a central focal sculpture on a roundabout representing a tree of life and a flock of geese arising .
Next phases includes building a tourism development which incorporates a luxury hotel with gym, spa, conference and dining facilities, marina with tourist outlets promoting local produce with banking facilities, restaurant, cafe, garden centre and contemporary waterfront homes along the loch shoreline. There are also plans for a Salmon and Sea Trout hatchery and visitor centre. Further details of the development which will include plans for a next generation homes for the over 55's.
Because of their long standing passion for the natural environment the main aim of the Malcolms is to link and grow this development with the local community through the construction of affordable housing, creation of up to 400 new jobs and the benefit of having an eco-tourism and wildlife site available for use to residents, schools and community groups in their local environs. The development is located only 9 miles from the bustling town of Kilmarnock and 30 minutes from Glasgow City Centre. Nearby visitor attractions include Loudoun Hill (which is linked with William Wallace and is the site of Richard Price's art sculpture 'Spirit of Scotland'), Loudoun Castle, Burns Cottage, numerous first rate golf courses and Ayr Race Course.
This innovative tourism development with its ethos firmly placed in sustainable / green tourism is a first for Scotland and over the coming month's further details on the development of the resort will be added to the website. If you would be interested in being kept up to date re development or would be interested in owning a contemporary lakeside home on the site please email Alison on allseasonsayr@btconnect.com to be placed on our mailing list for future updates.
